The Rock Student Ministries

Welcome to The Rock Student Ministries! We exist to serve teens and their families so that Christ is formed in them. Our hearts desire is to see students GROWING in Christ-like maturity through His Word, LIVING lives that are cross-centered and pleasing to God and SHARING the gospel of Jesus Christ to other students and families around them. (based on Galatians 4:19, Ephesians 4:12-13, Matt 28:19:20).

We meet Tuesday nights @ 6:30pm. Our aim each week is that students 7th - 12th grade from the community and the church will be welcomed and encouraged to follow Christ in their everyday lives. Our time each week includes worship in music, challenging teaching from the Word and good old fun 'n fellowship. Come on by and bring your friends!! Check this site regularly to see some of the current events and teaching series at youth group

Safety is an important concern for us! Not only do we want THE ROCK STUDENT MINISTRIES to be a place where you can develop awesome friends and grow closer to God, but also to be a place where you know that you will be safe. To provide a safe atmosphere we need to have some rules to assure that you can have the most fun and the best experience!

Our rules:
1. No Bad Language. What we say lets others know what we think and believe, we want to glorify God with every area of our life…our words are one of the ways we worship God.

2. No leaving campus during any lesson or worship. We are concerned about your well being and want to maintain a safe atmosphere for you. We are not a prison, but we want to keep you safe.

3. Be respectful of those who are worshiping and learning from the lesson. We believe that everyone deserves respect and should get it…especially when learning and praising God!

4. No Cell Phones or electronics. We all have them but they only distract us from focusing on what’s important. If you need a phone just let us know.

5. No PDA (public display of affection). If you need more than a simple hug, this isn't the place...and you should talk with us about that anyway! =)

6. No Tobacco/drugs/alcohol. This is pretty self-explanatory, but if you struggle with these we want to help!

7. Dress modestly. We believe in modesty! Our culture is saturated with sex and sexual images! This is a time to focus on God and not our bodies so please dress not to distract.

Here are some links to some cool sites:

  • The Rebeloution.com - The official definition of the 'rebelution' is "a teenage rebellion against the low expectations of an ungodly culture."
  • Living Waters - some great articles and video clips about sharing your faith. There are two sermons you should really listen to. "Hell's Best Kept Secret" and "True and False Conversion"

ARE YOU SAVED??

Jesus says in Matthew 7 there will be many who are fooled into thinking that they are saved only to hear Jesus say on Judgment day that “‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’” (Matthew 7:23) What does it mean to be saved? Are you saved? How do you know? Check out this video from Paul Washer and strap on your seatbelts! This video was presented to a large youth conference and he challenged each one of them to “Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?” (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Please take the time to sit down and watch this video!! It is an hour long but it is well worth it! Eternity is priceless and this video causes you to think about your eternal destiny!

My prayer is that “the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,” (Ephesians 1:18)
