Programs & Events
WEEKLY PROGRAMSTUESDAY NIGHT YOUTH GROUP @ 6:30 - 7th -12th GRADE: Our weekly program is designed to provide a place for students from both the church and the community to come and be encouraged to follow Christ in their everyday lives. The teaching time from the Word is expositional, cross-centered and is designed to challenge students to step above the cultural norm. We have a fun time of fellowship, worship in music and hear preaching from the Word of God. We close the evening service with small groups based on gender and grade level. The small groups are a time to foster accountability in their walk with Christ. Come check it out and bring your friends!!
SUNDAY SCHOOL @ 11am - On Sunday from 11:00am-12:00 we have our Sunday school classes for Jr. High and Sr. High. This is a time focused on challenging students to dive deep in their relationship with God through in-depth study of the Word.
SR. HIGH KCOR - The KCOR (ROCK spelled backwards) is a group of students whose goal is to grow and be challenged in their commitment to Christ through accountability, study of the Word, and learning servant-leadership skills. Our desire is that the KCOR will be servant-leaders among their peers at youth group, their schools and their community. The KCOR gives the students an opportunity to “have a say” in youth group decisions as well as planning and running events such as the annual VBS. The KCOR meet every other weekend at the Noorlun home.
EVENTS AND RETREATS
We have several major events each year that provide opportunities for outreach and growth and just plain fun! We also encourage small group activities throughout the year to foster opportunities for small group and individual discipleship.
30 HOURS OF FASTING AND PRAYER - Each spring we hold a 30 hour event of fasting and prayer combined with fund raising for a Christian relief organization (i.e. World Vision, Voice of the Martyrs, Portland Rescue Mission, etc.). With Service projects and teaching around a current awareness issues such as famine, persecution of the church, serving others in need locally, the students have an opoprotunty to learn and exercise the disciplines of fasting and prayer. This is a time that will deepen their faith and provoke the students to action.
DARE 2 SHARE -
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - Our KCOR students plan, design and put on the Vacation Bible School each summer. The week long VBS is a great ministry to the young kids in our community by sharing the gospel of Christ. The KCOR students also stay together for a summer leadership camp during the VBS week and have a time of growth as a leadership team and in their own personal walk with Christ.
HARVEST PARTY - Our KCOR students also put on a harvest party each Halloween for our community. With fun booths and the gospel message we seek to impact the community for Christ and have seen wonderful testimonies of God’s saving grace as a result.
WINTER RETREAT - Each winter we take a trip to Mount Hood Meadows for a 4day 3night winter retreat. We enjoy a guest speaker to challenge us in the Word and times of worship and night skiing over the New Year’s weekend.
